FAQ’s
What materials do you use?
I work primarily with copper, using a mix of repurposed and new responsibly sourced materials.
Each piece is formed, polished, and assembled by hand, allowing the character of the material to remain visible rather than over-refined. Where stones are used, they are selected for their natural beauty and subtle variation.
I value material integrity and longevity, and I choose processes that allow copper to remain raw and honest, developing its own patina over time through wear.
Is everything handmade?
Each piece is made by hand in my studio, from design through to assembly and finishing. I form and shape many of the components myself, and bring everything together with close attention to balance, durability, and how the piece feels when worn.
Some elements are responsibly sourced and then cut, refined, and integrated by hand. This allows me to work thoughtfully with the material, without forcing the process or overworking the piece.
Why copper?
Copper is a material with warmth, strength, and a long history of being shaped by hand. It conducts energy, responds, and changes over time rather than remaining static.
I work with copper because it’s honest. It marks, softens, and develops character through wear, reflecting movement and use rather than perfection. Each piece becomes more personal the longer it’s worn.
How should I care for my copper jewellery?
Copper naturally changes over time. With wear, it will deepen in colour and develop a patina that reflects how and where it’s worn. This is part of the material’s character, not a flaw.
If you prefer to keep your piece brighter, a jewellery polishing cloth will gently restore its shine. Copper reacts most strongly to oils — including natural skin oils, sweat, lotions, and perfumes — which can accelerate patina development.
When not worn, store your piece in a dry place, ideally wrapped in a soft cloth or kept in an airtight container, to slow natural oxidation. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals to preserve the surface over time.
How should I size and fit my cuff?
Cuffs are designed to be slid onto the wrist rather than bent open and closed. To put on a cuff, turn it sideways and slide it over the narrowest part of the wrist — just behind the wrist bone on the thumb side of the arm. Once the cuff has passed this point, rotate it into position on the wrist.
Some designs, particularly more solid and heavily textured cuffs, are work-hardened and hold their shape firmly. These styles are not highly flexible and are intended to fit correctly without the need for adjustment. For these pieces, choosing the right size is important.
To check sizing before purchasing, measure your wrist using a soft tape measure or a piece of string held snugly against the skin at the narrowest point of the wrist. This measurement can be used as a guide when selecting a cuff size, allowing a small amount of space for comfort and ease of movement.
Minor shaping for comfort is fine on lighter designs, but repeated bending or forceful adjustment should be avoided, as it can weaken the metal over time.
Bracelets, anklets, and rings follow standard sizing and do not require special fitting instructions.
If you’re unsure which size or style is right for you, feel free to get in touch before purchasing.
Can I wear my pieces every day / in water?
Yes. These pieces are made to be worn and lived with. Copper responds to the body, movement, and time, and regular wear often deepens its character rather than harming it.
Water exposure is generally fine, particularly fresh or salt water. However, prolonged contact with harsh chemicals — such as those found in chlorinated pools, cleaning products, or some lotions and perfumes — may accelerate surface changes. Removing your piece in these situations will help preserve its form and finish over time.
Copper is a living material. It will develop marks, shifts in tone, and patina as it interacts with you and your environment. These changes are not flaws, but part of the natural evolution of the piece and the story it carries.
How are orders packaged and shipped?
Each piece is carefully packaged by hand and prepared with the same intention as it is made. Orders are wrapped simply and securely, using minimal packaging wherever possible.
At this time, orders are shipped within Australia only. Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking details so you can follow its journey to you.
If you have any questions about shipping or need help with your order, please feel free to get in touch.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Each piece is made and finished by hand, and I hope it becomes something you truly connect with. If for any reason your piece isn’t right for you, please get in touch within 7 days of receiving your order so we can discuss an exchange or store credit.
Returned items must be unworn and in their original condition. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
Please note that custom or made-to-order pieces cannot be returned or exchanged.
Do you take custom orders?
I accept very limited custom orders, depending on availability and the nature of the request. Custom work is approached thoughtfully and begins with a conversation to see whether the piece and timing are the right fit.
If you’re interested in a custom piece, please get in touch to start that conversation.
